Immerse yourself in a life of royalty for a night or two
Period TV dramas such as Bridgerton or Downton Abbey have seen huge success with viewers, with millions tuning in to follow the trials and tribulations of the fictional aristocratic families living a life of lavish, high society splendour.
Fortunately, you can do just that with a stay at the Grade I-listed Lytham Hall Gate House within the magnificent estate, a Georgian period home on the edge of the upmarket coastal town. A night's stay is around £100.Although there will be no butler to greet you as you arrive and a TV, kitchen appliances not quite in-keeping with the manor's 18th century origins, you can sleep in a room reminiscent of the past.
The characteristic property has been newly-refurbished and modernised but has stayed true to many of its original features. It is also single-storey and heated throughout.
