One of the drivers was advised to go to hospital
A busy road was closed to traffic tonight after a crash involving a Hackney cab and another vehicle. Emergency services were called to the junction of Balliol Road East and Hawthorne Road in Bootle at around 5.55pm this evening, Friday December 27. The road was blocked off while police cleared the road. Photographs taken at the scene show extensive damage has been done to the front of the taxi, which was left on the pavement and is surrounded by debris from the collision.
There were no major injuries, but one of the drivers was advised to seek further medical attention at hospital, the force incident manager for Merseyside Police said. The road has since been reopened.
