Montgomery, Alabama
Tuesday was a pleasant June day across central and south Alabama. The sky was partly to mostly sunny, with no rain. Afternoon temperatures were in the mid to upper 80s. Humidity was low, so afternoon heat indices matched or were slightly below air temperatures. The sky remains partly cloudy Tuesday night with lows in the mid 60s. Wednesday looks partly cloudy, hot, and dry with highs near 90°.
Heat increases late this week into Father’s Day weekend. A handful of stray showers or storms may form Thursday afternoon. However, many of us remain dry. For those that see rain, it likely remains brief and fairly light. Temperatures peak in the low 90s Thursday. Friday and Saturday look mostly sunny, dry, and hotter with highs in the mid 90s. Heat indices could be in the low 100s each afternoon.
Isolated daytime showers or storms appear possible Father’s Day and next Monday. However, rain coverage remains limited, so many miss out on cooling rain each day. Our area may trend drier next Tuesday and Wednesday. Meanwhile, the heat may also back down next week, with high temperatures closer to 90° through Wednesday.
