Foreign secretary James Cleverly said about Russia's alleged bombing of the Nova Khakhovka dam, which is set to affect 100 towns and villages and poses a threat to the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power station, was a 'war crime.'
The wall of the Nova Khakhovka dam in Russian-occupied southern Ukraine collapsed this morning, endangering Europe's largest nuclear power plant and threatening drinking water supplies, as both sides in the war rushed to evacuate civilians.
Residents of Nova Kakhovka, which sits on the Russian-controlled southern bank of the Dnipro River, said the mood was tense in town. 'If you come a metre closer than allowed, they immediately start yelling obscenities. We're still allowed to go to the store, but we don't know what orders will be given next.'
