It's been empty for several years
Nottingham's former General Hospital site is being turned into an office space after sitting vacant for around five years. The historic Standard Court building, situated on Standard Hill, near Nottingham Castle, was once the home of Nottingham General Hospital until the site closed in 1992.
But now Cubo, a company which provides flexible office spaces, will be taking over the building to offer 50,000 sq ft of office accommodation. There will be 630 desks available across four floors, with features including a gym, spa and beer on tap for those using the space.Marc Brough, the Managing Director of Cubo, said: "This is going to be the most incredible workspace and office building in Nottingham and will also be the largest workspace in the Cubo portfolio.
Cubo says it has already had expressions of interest in the new building and that pre-lets will be announced in the coming weeks. Other features of the office space will include a secure car park with 44 spaces.
