Major flooding in Glasgow as burst water pipe leaves thousands of homes without water
Thousands of Glasgow homes have been left without water due to a major pipe bursting. Scottish Water have confirmed that technicians are on site investigating a major disruption in the Anniesland area on Friday morning.
A Traffcom update read: "Following an additional water burst, Bearsden Road has been reduced to one lane on its approach to Anniesland Cross. Road users are advised to approach the Anniesland Cross Junction with caution due to the amount of surface water in the area. A Scottish Water spokesperson added: "Scottish Water is advising customers in parts of the centre, west and south west of Glasgow of a burst water main which could affect normal water supplies.
"The burst could temporarily cause low water pressure or loss of normal water supply to properties in areas such as the city centre, West End, Partick, Anniesland and Govan.
