Great news for food lovers
Popular fried chicken chain Popeyes is set to open one of its first drive-thru restaurants in the UK at the £30m Teal Park development near Netherfield. The new Popeyes, which is expected to open next spring, will create 100 jobs.
The new restaurant will open at Teal Park, off the A612 Colwick Loop Road between Netherfield and Stoke Bardolph, which has been jointly developed by Warwickshire based AC Lloyd Commercial and Nottingham based Henry Davidson Developments .Tom Crowley, chief executive at Popeyes UK, added: “The sustained demand we’re seeing for Popeyes is incredible. It’s great to see how enthusiastically the UK has welcomed us, and we’re particularly proud to be opening our first drive-thru locations this year.
Founded in New Orleans in 1972, Popeyes has a menu including 12-hour marinated chicken and Southern biscuits and gravy. The 2,500 sq ft unit will contain a 65-seating area, drive through, car park, and click and collect bays. A planning application is currently being prepared and, if planning approval is successful, work would begin later this year on converting the premises into another Popeyes site.
The trade park is next to the vast new Rivendell housing estate, where a new primary school has also opened.
