A major road in Northern Ireland is closed after a crash late on Thursday night. Part of the A5 Curr Road in County Tyrone has been shut in both directions as a result of the road traffic collision
The road is closed at its junction with Augher Point Road in the village of Beragh. The road is the main road from Omagh towards Ballygawley and the border. Trafficwatch NI is describing the collision as "serious". Diversions have been put in place at Moylagh Road and Drumconnelly Road and very slow-moving traffic was building up in the area late into the evening. Motorists are being encouraged to avoid the area if they can.An alert at 10.26pm from road and traffic monitoring service Inrix said: "A5 Curr Road in both directions closed, very slow traffic due to accident from Drumconnelly Road to B46 Moylagh Road.
A tweet from Police Fermanagh and Omagh just after 9pm on Thursday read: "The Curr Road in Beragh is currently closed at the junction of Augher Point Road due to a road traffic collision. Diversions are in place at Moylagh Road and Drumconnelly Road. Motorists are advised to avoid the area if possible."This is an unfolding incident.
