The Bureau of Metrology has issued a heatwave warning for multiple parts of Queensland with some maximum temperatures climbing into the forties.
Residents in one Aussie state have been told to brace for extreme heat over the coming days, with the Bureau of Meteorology issuing a warning for severe heatwave conditions.
Brisbane’s heat is set to reach a maximum of 35C on Friday, while areas such as Gatton and Laidley will reach 39C over the coming days.The low to severe-intensity heatwave conditions are expected to affect large parts of the state, with the Bureau warning of maximum temperatures during the day in the"high thirties to high forties". She warned the effects of heatwave conditions were not “a one day affair”, urging residents to take precautions due to the risk to their health. “Certainly once again, we're seeing that storm-prone region - north-eastern New South Wales, south eastern-Queensland - potentially facing thunderstorms,” she said.
