Aldi said construction on their new store will start in 2025
A row has erupted between two major supermarkets over plans to open a new Aldi store in Litherland . The discount chain submitted a planning application to Sefton Council proposing to develop a brownfield site on Pendle Drive but, at a planning committee on December 11, another supermarket lodged an objection to the plans.
In response to Tesco's objection letter, commercial real estate agents, Avison Young submitted a lengthy rebuttal of Tesco's objections on behalf of Aldi, which stated: 'Tesco has chosen to submit a lengthy objection following publication of the Officer Report and within 24 hours or so of the scheduled planning committee meeting.
