New South Wales residents are being warned to brace for heavy thunderstorms on Monday afternoon with 'damaging winds, large hail and heavy falls' expected to smash parts of the state.
The"severe thunderstorms" are most at risk in the NSW Hunter region and Sydney's western suburbs, however the weather event could be"widespread".
“The bulk of the severe storms will stay inland but some wet weather could make its way, all the way to the coast." Mr Sharpe said the extreme weather would be a running theme early this week, with thunderstorms to move through northern NSW on Tuesday and Wednesday.
