The protests coincide with the start of the school holidays

A huge anti-tourism protest with more than ‘100 groups’ participating is set to take place in Majorca’s capital tomorrow, according to local reports. It comes as thousands of Brits will jet off on holiday this weekend to popular holiday destinations - including Spain ’s Balearic Islands.

Local news site Majorca Daily Bulletin says that ‘a total of 111 groups’ will take part in the demonstration. The group reportedly calls for a change in the tourism model, but also for a “fight for housing.”The protest follows several other demonstrations held in Spanish holiday destinations over recent weeks.
