Anna ‘Chickadee’ Cardwell, daughter of Mama June Shannon, has been diagnosed withThe reality star came to fame on Here Comes Honey Boo Boo, which focused on her sibling Alana Thompson and their home life.
According to reports, she was diagnosed with stage 4 adrenal carcinoma in January of this year, and has been undergoing chemotherapy ever since.that she went to the doctors with complaints of a stomach ache, and underwent a series of tests.The family are thought to have rallied around Anna and stepped in to take care of her two children, Kaitlyn and Kylee, so that she can focus on her health.The outlet reports that she underwent her first round of treatment last month.
Anna has yet to speak about the diagnosis publicly, but recently shared a sweet Instagram update showing her children playing with a chipmunk. The Mayo Clinic states that adrenal cancer can occur at any age, but is more likely to affect young children under the age of five, and adults in their 40s-50s.It is unclear what causes the condition, but symptoms include weight gain, muscle weakness, back pain, abdominal bloating, nausea and vomiting.
Anna is June’s eldest child, with the Dancing With The Stars contestant also mom to Jessica ‘Chubbs’ Shannon, Lauryn ‘Pumpkin’ Efird and Alana, who first found fame on Toddlers and Tiaras, before landing her own reality series.
