BREAKING: Man dies and woman left seriously ill after taking 'MDMA'
A 19-year-old man has died and a 22-year-old woman rushed to hospital this morning after taking what was thought to be ecstasy at a student event.
The teenage victim was first taken ill at the Assembly music venue at around 5am before later dying at hospital. Warwickshire Police have shared a picture of the hexagonal ‘Red Bull’ pill which they believe the victims have taken in Leamington Spa. The 22-year-old woman is in a serious condition while a ‘number of others’ have also been admitted to hospital after suffering ‘adverse effects’ at the drum and bass night, officers say.In a bid to stop further casualties, police are appealing to anyone else who has purchased the pills to dispose of them safely.Detective Superintendent Pete Hill from Warwickshire Police said: ‘Our thoughts are with the family of the teenager, and specialist officers are currently supporting them.
‘At this time we believe the tablet taken is a red hexagonal pill named “Red Bull”, which is believed to be MDMA, and we are concerned there may be others who have also taken this.
