A Florida man has been arrested on suspicion of tampering with rental electric scooters parked on the streets.
Twenty scooters with severed brake lines were found in the area, but officials have revealed that more than 140 scooters have been disabled in a similar fashion in the southeast part of Fort Lauderdale since April 15. Mr Williams, who was wearing one glove and carrying two pairs of wire cutters when he was arrested, was charged with criminal mischief as well as resisting arrest and ‘loitering or prowling’.The police report stated: ‘In the early morning hours on 28 September 2019… the defendant was observed walking around the neighbourhood, hiding in the shadows, and utilising the dark alleyways to conceal himself from public view.
