A 75-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a 74-year-old woman died on Christmas Day.
Officers were called to a house in Fairbourne, Gwynedd, following reports that the woman had sustained serious injuries, North Wales Police said. "Tragically, despite the best efforts of the victim's family, police officers and paramedics who attended, the woman was pronounced dead at the scene," police added.
Detective Chief Inspector Brian Kearney said the 75-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder and was in custody at a local police station.DCI Kearney said:"This is a truly tragic and very rare type of occurrence in northwest Wales and I wish to reassure the public that we are not looking for anyone else in connection with this incident.More stories
