COVINGTON COUNTY, Ala. - A man already in the Covington County is facing a new charge after allegedly attacking a corrections deputy. Covington County Sheriff Blake Turman confirms Donald Burgans has been charged with first-degree assault.says Burgans caused “great injury.” Court documents indicate Burgan was behind bars for trying to escape while being arrested on a failure to appear charge.Copyright 2024 WSFA.
