Defence solicitor says accused the victim of “an awful series of coincidences”
A North Antrim man was remanded into custody today accused of the armed robbery of a Brazilian sex worker.
During a contested bail application the court heard how the alleged victim is a sex worker from Brazil who was contacted by married father-of-two Adair for an appointment just after 9.30pm on Wednesday after her phone number was obtained from an escort website. Saying that it was a “highly unusual case”, the solicitor said the robbery coincided with that second call so clearly, the police had used Adair’s mobile number to trace him to his home where he was arrested.
According to Adair, the court was told, he drove past the police station and turned left which would take him away from the escort’s flat. The court also heard that Adair took himself to portrush having contacted the escort, with Mr Harvey saying it amounted to “an awful series of coincidences”.
