Rochester, N.Y. — A man has been arrested in connection to a homicide on Avenue D back on May 3.
Police say a man in his 50's was shot and killed on Avenue D after some type of altercation, Friday, May 3, 2024. Police say that 21-year-old Cesar Manuel Soto-Roman had
after an argument. Police said both Caraballo and Soto-Roman lived at the same address but in separate apartments.Police said after the shooting, Soto-Roman fled the Rochester area. Prior to the shooting, he was wanted by authorities in San Juan, Puerto Rico, for criminal possession of a firearm. On Monday morning, homicide investigators and a local contingent of the United States Marshals Violent Felony Fugitive Task Force traveled to South Euclid, Ohio in an attempt to locate him. He was taken into custody without incident at a residence in South Euclid by the task force. Police say they recovered a loaded 9mm handgun.
Soto-Roman is currently being held at the Cuyahoga County Jail on an outstanding arrest warrant of murder in the second degree and criminal possession of a firearm. Over the course of the next few weeks, Rochester police will be working with multiple agencies, including the Monroe County District Attorney's Office, to have Soto-Roman brought back to Rochester.
