The incident happened at Grosvenor Casino in Maid Marian Way

A man has admitted an armed robbery at a Nottingham city centre casino. on Wednesday, March 8.

Officers arrested a suspect nearby following a brief foot chase. Robin Simandi-Curtis, 26, of Sherwin Walk, St Ann's, was charged with robbing a woman of cash and possession of a knife in Maid Marian Way. According to Nottinghamshire Police at the time, a cashier suffered a minor puncture wound to her hand which required hospital treatment. The casino was also forced to temporarily close. Residents told Nottinghamshire Live that they felt "panicked " following the alleged crime.Simandi-Curtis pleaded guilty to both charges at a short hearing at Nottingham Crown Court on Tuesday . He previously indicated his pleas before Nottingham Magistrates' Court.

An application was made to adjourn for a psychiatrict report. Simandi-Curtis was previously sectioned and detained in a secure unti after a psychotic episode. There appeared to be something similar during this incident, the court heard. Judge Stuart Rafferty KC adjourned for the preparation of a psychiatric report until sentencing on June 13.
