Sarah’s body was found disposed of in south London A man has pleaded guilty to the murder of 38-year-old Sarah Mayhew whose remains were found scattered in a London park this year. At the Old Bailey on Thursday, Steven Sansom, 45, admitted murdering Sarah Mayhew and perverting the course of justice by dismembering her body, disposing of it in various locations, and then cleaning up the crime scene. Gemma Watts, 49, faces the same charges and was not asked to enter pleas.

Sansom was previously convicted in 1999 for the murder of a cab driver, the Old Bailey heard. Steven Samson pleaded guilty to Sarah’s murder in April Both Watts and Sansom were charged with the prevention of the lawful and decent burial of a body in April, while Samson was charged with three counts of making indecent images of a child. Police say the indecent image charges are ‘unconnected with the murder investigation at this stage’.
