A Columbus man who had just served 120 days in jail for child-porn crimes was found to have had child porn on his cellphone just days later, according to federa
l court documents .
The roommate tapped on the thumbnail image, which opened in another app called Mega, within which Rippel had stored "hundreds of pictures and videos of young male children around 8 years old, engaged in sexual acts," the documents said. After officers conducted an interview on site, they took Rippel to CPD headquarters and asked him questions about the content on his phone. "Rippel admitted to possessing 'adult and child porn' on his cell phone," the documents indicated.
