Police in Bartholomew County say a 20-year-old man stole a Lexus, pictured left, abandoned it at a rest stop and then stole a tractor, pictured right.COLUMBUS, Ind. — A 20-year-old McCordsville man is facing charges after police say he abandoned a stolen vehicle to steal a tractor in Bartholomew County. , shortly before 7 p.m.
After arresting the suspect, police say they found a key to a Lexus on his person. Police also say they found multiple vehicle registration cards for a Lexus in the suspect's pocket. After checking the Lexus' BMV registration, police discovered the Lexus was reported stolen out of McCordsville. The Lexus was eventually located abandoned at a nearby interstate rest stop.
Police say the suspect is facing charges of theft of a motor vehicle, public indecency and resisting law enforcement.
