A 17-year-old boy has appeared in court following the incident
A man was allegedly threatened at knifepoint and marched to a cashpoint in Nottingham. Nottinghamshire Police said the victim of the street robbery was walking along Hucknall Road, Nottingham, at around 5.40pm on Sunday, November 17, when he was approached by a youth who asked if he had any money.
He reported being shown a knife, threatened and marched to an ATM but did not have his bank card. The victim was then ordered to transfer cash to the offender before he fled the scene. Police officers later arrested a suspect at his home a short time later, with the force stating cannabis was also found during searches of the property. A 17-year-old boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons, has been charged with robbery, possession of a knife in a public place and possession of a Class B drug.
He appeared at Nottingham Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, November 19 and was bailed with strict conditions until his next appearance at Nottingham Crown Court on February 26, 2025. Detective Sergeant Rob Palethorpe, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “The officers on duty should be commended for their swift and efficient work in tracking down a suspect.
“We know street robberies like this can be a frightening experience for any victim. That is why the force has teams of detectives working hard to bring offenders to justice while supporting victims.”
