Two Mancunians whose mothers attended a Greater Manchester fertility clinic in the 1970s have made the shock discovery they were fathered by the same lab technician - with questions now being raised about the methods of one of the pioneers of IVF.
The parents of Roz Snyder, 52, and David Gertler, 51 - both now based in Greater Manchester - attended the clinic after struggling to conceive. Mr Hollinhead, 84, reportedly told Ms Snyder Dr Steptoe 'used sperm from lab staff, medical students and doctors... but no records of any were kept' and told the Telegraph he was not sure the hospital was aware of the apparent scheme.
Ms Snyder told the Telegraph: "It has been life-changing. It has given me an identity crisis. Who am I? I just don't know. There have been so many tears. So much crying. I just found out my dad's not my dad."
