BREAKING: Man 'armed with knife and hammer making threats to kill' is arrested outside Home Office

A MAN reportedly armed with a knife and hammer has been arrested outside the Home Office today.

The suspect, in his 30s, was taken into custody on suspicion of possessing an offensive weapon and “making threats to kill”.A Metropolitan Police spokesman said: “Police were called at 12.47pm to St Thomas Street, outside a Home Office building, following reports of a man armed with a knife and a hammer.The man was taken into custody.

It comes just days after a 29-year-old man was charged with grievous bodily harm over a knife attack outside the Home Office. Dominic Hornberger, from Birmingham, was charged with possession of a knife in a public place following the stabbing of a civil service worker on Thursday. He is due to appear in Southwark Crown Court next month after appearing at Westminster Magistrates’ court on Saturday.
