The 42-year-old was detained by officers investigating claims the former Republic of Ireland and Manchester United captain was headbutted on Sunday.
A man has been arrested after former Celtic player Roy Keane was allegedly assaulted. The ex-Hoops midfielder is said to have been headbutted yesterday afternoon at The Emirates Stadium.
The Metropolitan Police refused to identify anyone involved in the incident, but issued a statement that said: "Police are investigating an incident at Emirates Stadium on Sunday, September 3, during which a man was assaulted. He won the Full Members Cup in 1992 during his three years at Forest, under the management of the legendary Brian Clough, before teaming up with Sir Alex Ferguson at Manchester United.
He scored his only Celtic goal in February 2006 in a 2-1 league win over Falkirk, and the next week played a starring role in a 1-0 win over Rangers at Ibrox.
