A man has been arrested in connection with a string of recent dog attacks after a heartbroken owner told how her own pet was savagely killed.
Distraught dog owner Jen Marshall has told how she watched in horror as her beloved Pomeranian Nala was set upon by a fierce breed near to her Greenock home.
The 37-year-old believes that the legislation around dangerous dogs needs toughened up to give police andShe said:"It all happened very quickly, the dog grabbed her and ripped her right out of her harness with its huge jaws."I was left holding her in my arms and the injuries were horrific. My kids just can't cope with her being gone.
Police today confirmed that they have now arrested a 55-year-old man in connection with dog attacks in the area and that a report has been sent to the procurator fiscal.Jen believes that politicians and the relevant authorities need to stiffen up the legislation around dangerous dogs.
