Cleveland Heights police arrested a man who allegedly threatened to take the life of a court magistrate.At 10:15 a.m. June 9, police were dispatched to CVS/Pharmacy, 2160 Lee Road, where a man known to police from past incidents, had allegedly exposed himself to a woman just outside the store’s vestibule.
The man said he had been dropped off at his driveway by a friend and that he then went inside his SUV for a moment, then walked towards his home’s side door. As he did so, he heard two men approaching him. One, he told police, wore a gray Nike sweatsuit, and the other, possibly a black Nike sweatsuit. The two men wore masks.
The suspects, the man told police, took from him a Rolex watch valued at $25,000, two $20,000 bracelets, a gold chain worth $20,000, his iPhone, car fob, and $2,000 in cash. On June 6, the suspect, upset about his court case, told a housing court specialist during a phone conversation that he “beat a manslaughter charge and would do it again after killing the magistrate.”
At 9:15 a.m. June 7, an officer was alerted by an automated license plate reader that a car with a stolen license plate was entering Cleveland Heights. At 1:40 p.m. June 7, officers were dispatched to an apartment where a 16-year-old boy had run away from home after threatening to stab his younger brother and his mother.
