Man arrested in connection with 'possessing a firearm' after police stop vehicle near Perth
A man has been arrested in connection with allegedly possessing a firearm after police stopped a vehicle on a country road.
Multiple police vehicles were seen on a back road between Crieff and Perth where they had stopped the vehicle around 6.10pm. Police Scotland has said there was "no wider threat to the public" during the alleged incident and confirmed that a 63-year-old man had been arrested. A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “A 63-year-old man has been arrested in connection with possession of a firearm after a vehicle was stopped at 6.10pm on an unclassified road west of Balgowan in Perthshire.
