Police taped off a house after a woman was stabbed in a horrific attack in Wigan . An attempted murder probe was launched after the incident at a house on Tintern Avenue, in Astley , in the early hours of Monday morning .
The victim, a woman, whose age has not been confirmed, was rushed to hospital from the scene with serious injuries. Her condition is not described as life-threatening.A 25-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and has been taken into custody to be quizzed by detectives. It is understood the suspect and victim know one another.
