A 35-year-old man remains in police custody

A man has been arrested in Ballymena on suspicion of a number of offences including the attempted murder of three police officers.

Following this, the Vectra continued for a short distance before ramming a stationary police vehicle. Police said the force of this collision caused the police car to strike a nearby officer, and forcing another officer to jump out of the way to avoid being hit by the Vectra.Read more: Man charged after reports of male exposing himself in Belfast park

Police pursued the suspect vehicle and deployed a stinger device. The vehicle then collided with the fence of a house on Whinsmoor Road and stopped. Police have confirmed he will also be questioned in connection with the originally reported disturbance at the Rathkeel Road property.
