Police said 23-year-old Tyrone Thompson was arrested in connection to the fatal hit-and-run in downtown Austin early Tuesday morning.CBS Austin obtained exclusi
of the crash near the intersection of Red River Street and 7th Street. The video showed the vehicle quickly driving through the intersection, hitting two pedestrians and narrowly missing several others. The pedestrians were walking on a crosswalk.PREVIOUS COVERAGE |
Later, Thompson was involved in another crash in Travis County and was arrested on unrelated charges. Detectives determined he was the suspected driver in the fatal downtown crash. According to online records, Thompson remains in the Travis County Jail and faces the following charges:Resist arrest search or transport - Misdemeanor, Class AAccident involving death - Felony, 2nd Degree
