The 23-year-old man suspected of throwing eggs at King Charles as he made a royal visit to York this week has now been banned from carrying eggs in public and must stay 500m away from the monarch. Patrick Thelwell was arrested after eggs were thrown at His Majesty and Queen Consort on Wednesday .
Speaking to the Mirror after being released from custody, Patrick said he has since received death threats. The University of York student said he was also attacked by the crowd at the time. Upon being asked why eggs were throws towards the King, who has been active in raising awareness of climate change, Patrick replied: “If that is what we take as someone who has done the most for climate change it shows you how low the bar is! This is a man who dresses in stolen jewels from India and Africa and every other colony.”
He went on to tell the Mirror that he has changed his passwords after receiving sinister messages, including death threats. He revealed: "I've had death threats, people on DM, Instagram, saying: “If I’m not careful I'm going to get my head cut off’," he said.
