Mark Smith says the situation is 'completely bizarre', although he has now been told the alleged reason for his ban
A man who was banned from a Wetherspoon pub is still fighting to be let back in. Mark Smith from Clifton is not giving up his plight after being ejected from the Joseph Else pub in Nottingham city centre - allegedly without reason.
Wetherspoon, like any licensed pub or bar in the country, is within its rights to refuse entry to any member of the public. But Mark says he feels it's completely unfair that he's being shut out. Mr Smith's barring occurred on January 3 when he visited the pub for the first time in two weeks. He was told to leave just moments after he had entered, in relation to a supposed incident on December 19.
Mark says he's now considering putting in a Subject Access Request to Wetherspoon to get them to provide him with the data they hold on him on file. He says Wetherspoon has previously told him they can't show the CCTV footage to people outside of the business.
