A pervert who sexually assaulted three young women within thirty minutes has been jailed. Eric Mwangi, 33, had earlier swiped a bottle of whisky from a hotel in Manchester city centre before embarking on the ‘disturbing’ campaign.
The court heard that the day before, Mwangi had entered the Ibis Hotel on Portland Street before sleeping in a hotel room after a guest had left their door open. Later that afternoon he went down to the hotel bar and swiped a bottle of Monkey Shoulder whisky. Around 10 minutes later Mwangi approached a different woman in the Morrisons’ car park in Hollinwood who was walking with a trolley, and grabbed at her crotch.
Following a trial at Manchester Crown Court, he was found guilty of three offences of sexual assault. He had earlier pleaded guilty to theft. “This was a recipe for disaster, he was unmedicated, homeless, lonely, cold and drunk - and was wandering around and sexually assaulting women. He can’t carry on like that” he said.
