New update following the incident
As we reported at the time, emergency services raced to Cook Street just before midday on Sunday after reports of a crash, which wiped the roof off a bus.Now, police confirmed that a 48-year-old man has been charged with a road traffic offence following the incident.
A force spokesperson said:"A 48-year-old man has been charged with a road traffic offence following a crash in Glasgow. "Around 11.35am on Sunday, May 21 2023, officers received a report of a bus crashing into a bridge on Cook Street."A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal and the man is expected to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court at a later date."
