Items were stolen from three shops
Numerous items, including laundry pods, were stolen from three stores in Preston and Leyland. Following numerous enquiries by Preston's Neighbourhood Policing Team, a 29-year-old man was arrested yesterday .
It can now be reported that Patrick Barnes, of no fixed abode, has been charged with three counts of theft from a shop. He has been remanded into custody and will appear at Preston Magistrates Court this morning. The charge comes as part of Lancashire Police's Operation Vulture. This is backed by Lancashire's Police and Crime Commissioner Clive Grunshaw to respond to shoplifting across the county.
The operation sees dedicated officers undertaking hotspot patrolling, increasing their visibility in targeted areas and creating strong partnerships with retailers across the county to better share intelligence, get a deeper understanding of retail crime and identify more offenders.
