A man was allegedly intoxicated when he caused a crash that killed two people, including his passenger, and seriously injured himself and another person on a Queensland highway. Mum-of-three Kellie Holland, 41, and 25-year-old man Jack Holt were killed on the Warrego Hwy at Drillham, northwest of Toowoomba , about 6am on April 18 when two Holden Colorado utes crashed head-on.
The Miles man and a 33-year-old Chinchilla man driving the white Colorado were flown to Brisbane hospitals, both in a serious condition. Holland is remembered as a “dearly loved mother”, a “cherished” grandmother and “loving daughter”, according to her funeral notice. A friend of Holt described him as “a loveable larrikin” who was “funny, genuine, kind, and always having a laugh” in comments to the Dalby Herald.
