A man faces drug charges following a significant operation by Cumbria police. Kyle Chaloner, 46, from Elm Terrace in Penrith, was arrested and charged with five offenses after a day of focused action on Friday, February 7, 2025. During the operation, officers executed two warrants under the Misuse of Drugs Act, made seven arrests, and conducted nine stop searches.

Early morning raids were conducted at two addresses, and officers visited an additional 20 premises as part of their ongoing investigations. He stated, \u201cI hope our visibility in Penrith on Friday sends a clear message to any potential offenders that we will not tolerate drug dealing in our communities.\u201d He urged residents to continue providing information, highlighting its crucial role in their efforts. Following the operation, officers visited 74 premises to conduct community appeals regarding drug activity. Cumbria\u2019s Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner, David Allen, expressed his strong stance against drugs and their supply in Cumbria. He praised the Constabulary\u2019s zero-tolerance approach to preventing and tackling drug supply activity. He stated, \u201cDrugs cause devastation to families and communities, cause untold damage and area blight. I am, therefore, delighted to see the zero-tolerance approach that the Constabulary are taking to prevent and tackle drug supply activity. The funding provided by my office will help target and tackle the individuals that deal in drugs in Cumbria.\u201d He concluded with a stern warning to those involved in drug dealing: \u201cLet me be clear, if you deal drugs or are involved in the supply of drugs, you will be caught and punished.\u201d
