Man charged with murder of seven-week-old baby boy who tragically died at Manchester Children's Hospital
A man has been charged with the murder of a baby boy, who was aged just seven-weeks-old when he tragically died at Manchester Children's Hospital. Abel-Jax Mailey was found unresponsive at a house on November 28 last year and died two days later after suffering a head injury.
Police were initially called at around 12.10pm on Sunday, November 28, 2021,. by the ambulance service, to an address on Piccadilly Road. They found seven-week-old Abel-Jax unresponsive, and he was transferred to Manchester Children's Hospital for further treatment.However he tragically died days later on November 30. A Home Office post-mortem examination was conducted and following further tests, it was established he died of a head injury.
