Man charged with drugs and human trafficking offences after Manchester Airport arrest
A man has been charged with drugs and human trafficking offences after being arrested at Manchester Airport. Michael Whitty was detained by police at 9.20am today .
The 24-year-old, of Finch Lane, Liverpool, was charged with being knowingly concerned in evading the prohibition of exportation of a controlled Class A drug from the UK and with human trafficking.He was remanded into custody and was due to appear at Wirral magistrate’s court today. The arrest was part a Merseyside Police crackdown on organised crime in Knowsley dubbed Operation Athena.
