Everton’s former chief Keith Wyness has claimed there will be “movement” in Man City’s fight against 115 financial charges this year., the 66-year-old – who served as CEO at Goodison Park between 2004 and 2009 and now runs a football consultancy advising elite clubs – accused City of “trying to kick it into the long grass” and “exhaust” the Premier League’s legal resources.

Man City were hit with 115 charges by the Premier League in February 2023 for allegedly breaching financial rules over nine years. Premier League chief executive Richard Masters claimed last week at the European Leagues General Assembly that “a date has been set and the case will resolve itself at some point in the near future”.“I think there’ll be some movement this year, before Christmas.
