Manchester City have reached an agreement with Stade Rennais for the signing of winger Jeremy Doku.
City will pay 65million euros, around £55.5m, for the 21-year-old winger whose contract with the Ligue 1 club runs until 2025. Agreeing personal terms with Doku is not expected to be an issue.
The biggest sale of the window so far has been Riyad Mahrez's exit from the club. The experienced forward also opted to move to Saudi Arabia and joined Al-Ahli for £30m. City have moved for Doku after finalising their plans on how to best replace Mahrez.City did have Crystal Palace winger Michael Olise on their radar but the Frenchman opted to sign a new contract at Selhurst Park after Chelsea made a concrete bid.
Pep Guardiola spoke about the need for City to make 'important decisions' in the transfer market following Saturday's win over Newcastle. The Blues boss named a youthful bench for the match which made the need for reinforcements obvious amid a growing injury crisis.
