Manchester City are top of the Premier League table
Manchester City sit top of the Premier League table after Liverpool's failure to beat Arsenal on Sunday.
City had taken top spot courtesy of their 1-0 win over Southampton on Saturday but Arne Slot's team would have returned to the summit with a win at the Emirates. But the contest between City's two title challengers ended in a 2-2 draw after Liverpool twice came from behind. The Gunners went ahead through Bukayo Saka’s close-range strike after just nine minutes before Virgil van Dijk levelled. Mikel Merino scored his first goal for the Gunners to restore their lead, but Mohamed Salah responded with 10 minutes to go.
The result means City are a point clear of Liverpool. Arsenal are now five points off the top in third, level with Aston Villa. Here's how the next six top flight fixtures look for the leading Premier League clubs.
