Manchester City players showed their support for new defender Abdukodir Khusanov during training, a week after his debut errors against Chelsea. The Uzbekistan international was part of the City squad preparing for their Champions League clash against Club Brugge, despite not being eligible to play. Khusanov, alongside fellow new signings Omar Marmoush and Vitor Reis, participated in the session and appeared more confident than his previous training sessions. Manager Pep Guardiola hinted that John Stones might start against Club Brugge due to other defensive injuries. The session also saw the return of Oscar Bobb, who was training with the senior squad for the first time since breaking his leg in August. Injured midfielder Rodri was present alongside former City player Fernandinho, observing the session.

Manchester City players rallied around under-fire defender Abdukodir Khusanov in training after his errors against Chelsea on debut this weekend - as a club legend watched on with injured midfielder Rodri. City trained on Tuesday ahead of their Champions League clash vs Club Brugge - their first full training session since the Chelsea game in which Khusanov's second-minute mistake cost a goal before he was booked two minutes later.

The Uzbekistan international recovered to put in some good last-ditch challenges, and was supported by manager Pep Guardiola and his new teammates after the game.\And on Tuesday, Khusanov was part of City training ahead of the Champions League clash, even if he cannot play vs Club Brugge after signing in January. Fellow new arrivals Omar Marmoush and Vitor Reis were also present on Tuesday but also cannot play - with Pep Guardiola suggesting that John Stones will 'have to' feature in the absence of other defensive injuries.\Khusanov emerged with Marmoush to Tuesday's session before joining fellow youngsters Rico Lewis and James McAtee in warming up before the session began. During a rondo, he got stuck in to close down Bernardo Silva and shared a joke with Reis as he looked far more comfortable than his first session just a week ago. There was no sign of Ruben Dias or Nathan Ake, nor was Jeremy Doku present as his absence continues. But Oscar Bobb was among the group as Guardiola teased his involvement for the first time since breaking his leg after the Community Shield in August. Bobb looked up for making an impression as he earned a promotion to the senior players' Rondo - Jack Grealish playfully negotiating his swap between groups with Josko Gvardiol. Watching the session was Rodri as he continues his injury rehabilitation firmly as part of the first team having travelled to Paris last week and been in the dressing room vs Chelsea having arrived with the squad on the team coach. Rodri was wearing the same training gear as his teammates but stood on the sidelines of the open session in his trainers. Next to him was former colleague Fernandinho, who has been in Manchester recently and helped fellow Brazilian Reis settle in to the club. How City would love to have the pair available for a big European game amid all their midfield struggles - as they were deep in conversation alongside Txiki Begiristain. The Sporting Director does not always watch training in person, but the magnitude of Wednesday's game and Fernandinho's presence was enough to tempt him pitchside as the rain poured. And City looked in good spirits ahead of their Champions League last chance. City training squad vs Club Brugge: Ederson, Ortega, Carson, Akanji, Gvardiol, Stones, Lewis, Khusanov*, Reis*, Alleyne, Nunes, Kovacic, Gundogan, Bernardo, De Bruyne, Wright, O'Reilly, McAtee, Foden, Grealish, Savinho, Marmoush*, Bobb, Haalan
