Manchester City have reportedly slapped a £50m price tag on Kalvin Phillips ahead of the January transfer window despite his bit-part squad status.

Phillips was linked with a move to West Ham during the summer but told club officials he wanted to stay and fight for his place.
Meanwhile, City are thought to be battling Newcastle for Bayer Leverkusen midfielder Exequiel Palacios. The 25-year-old has been instrumental in the club’s unbeaten start to the season, which sees them lead the Bundelsliga.
