Manchester City defender Kyle Walker returned to full training with the rest of his England teammates on Thursday.
Walker has been called up to Gareth Southgate's squad in the latest international break for a friendly against Australia and Euro 2024 qualifier against Italy. However, there was an injury concern for the Manchester City defender earlier this week when he didn't join the rest of his Three Lions teammates in a full training session.
Instead, Walker conducted an individual session away from the rest of the group indoors, prompting fears he picked up a knock which could see him pull out of the squad like Arsenal forward Bukayo Saka.ALSO READ: Stones faces City test with England after Guardiola comment On Tuesday, the official England account on X, formerly Twitter, posted pictures of the training session alongside the caption: "24 #ThreeLions players have been out at training at St. George's Park today, with @kylewalker2 working indoors."
There had been no indication Walker had suffered an injury in his last outing for City, in which he played the full 90 minutes of in the 1-0 defeat to Arsenal on Sunday. Concerns of an issue have seemingly been put to rest on Thursday afternoon with Walker returning to outside training with the rest of the squad.
A clip from the session shows Walker stretching and taking part in cardio exercises in a warm-up before more vigorous work was undertaken. It's been a busy week for Walker who, after the full-time whistle against Arsenal, confronted former colleague Nicolas Jover, now set-piece coach at Arsenal. The Manchester Evening News understands there was disappointment among City players last season when Jover refused to shake their hands after their two league victories over Arsenal.
