A man reportedly named Konstantin Stachukov was arrested in Moscow after allegedly attempting to set fire to Vladimir Lenin’s Mausoleum using Molotov cocktails

Russian Telegram channels claim he hurled a Molotov cocktail at the Red Square building where the embalmed body of the Soviet leader is stored in a chamber beneath a bulletproof glass. Baza identified him as Konstantin Stachukov from the city of Chita, located on the Trans-Siberian Railway route. It is alleged he travelled to the capital on the eve of his 37th birthday, throwing a glass bottle with a flammable liquid towards the mausoleum at around 10pm last night.

It crashed in the pavement in front of the building before igniting, but no damage has been reported yet.He was detained by police at the scene and according to local media, he was in an ‘inadequate’ condition and resisted officers.
