Man, 23, was arrested on suspicion of double murder in Moss Side that detectives regard as an isolated incident
A man in his 20s has been arrested on suspicion of a double murder after two men were fatally stabbed in Manchester.
Police said they were called to Great Southern Street in the Moss Side area of the city at about 5am on Sunday, responding to reports of two people being stabbed. Detectives said they were treating it as an isolated incident with no threat to the wider public. No one else is being sought. No further details about the victims have been released.
Ch Supt Dave Meeney of Greater Manchester police said he understood the “shockwaves” the incident would have caused in the local community and across Greater Manchester. He said a number of local neighbourhood officers would conduct visible patrols in the area to help reassure people.
